TOUR ITINERARY
Day One:
After collection at 0800, your first stop is the traditional Glenturret Distillery. This traditional whisky distillery is set in the heart of Crieff and is one of the oldest working distilleries in Scotland. After your first distillery visit, Balmoral Castle can be enjoyed. The Summer home for the Queen – this magnificent example of Scots Baronial architecture sits on beautifully kept grounds surrounded by splendid scenery. Situated beside her Majesty the Queen’s Scottish Home is Royal Lochnagar Distillery. Originally called New Lochnager, this distillery was renamed following a royal visit and is now one of the jewels in the Royal Deeside crown. Situated in a remote glen, Glenlivet Distillery sets standards to be rivalled against for their quality and taste.
Day Two:
The first stop of day two is Glenfiddich Distillery – home to the world’s most awarded single malt, this distillery is still one of the few which remains family owned. As you travel through Strathspey you will see the rolling hills and river spey which gives the speyside whiskies their distinctive flavour. Visit one of the world’s most famous distilleries, Macallan. This new build, architecturally designed distillery is a beautiful sight which complements the surrounding panoramic landscape, however, you will delve into the history and heritage in the distillation process. The Strathisla Distillery, founded in 1786, is sure to bring you a sensory experience before the tour ends as you stop off at a natural sea arch on the waters edge, Bow Fiddle Rock, where you can hopefully see a sunset over the water to end your whisky trail before heading back to Glasgow/Edinburgh.
