There has been scenes that have gripped you to the edge of your seat, and now you can relive them at the locations where they were actually filmed!

Hop aboard at the doors of your Glasgow/Edinburgh accommodation at 0800. You will make your way to Hopetoun House, a grand house which is the filming location for many scenes in the Outlander series. Your next stop if Midhope Castle, Jamie’s family home in the series, before we move on  to the incredible fierce looking and impressive castle, Blackness Castle. This was made to represent Fort William in the series and was the scene where Jamie had received lashes from Captain Randall and also where Jamie’s father died.

As we move through the tour, you’ll also visit Linlithgow Palace. As well as being used as the infamous Wentworth Prison in Outlander, this is also the birthplace of many Scottish Royals including Mary Queen of Scots. Fantastic photo opportunities and a bite to eat can be had at Stirling Castle – one of Scotland’s most significant – before we make our way to Doune Castle in the afternoon.

As the tour progresses, you’ll find yourself in a lovely 16th century village of Culross which you will recognise instantly as it is used for many scenes within the series. Used to portray the city of Inverness in the series, you will be able to visit the quantit town of Falkland before ending the tour at Dysart Harbour. This was used to depict a French Harbour in the series where Claire, Jamie and Murtagh arrive in Le Havre. At 2000, we will drop you to the door of your Glasgow/Edinburgh accommodation.

George came and picked me up on time and off we went. Although we had an itinerary we didn’t make it all because George let me go at my own pace. I like to wander and get distracted and George never rushed me. George was incredibly informative and funny and truly by the end of the day it felt like I was out with a long lost uncle.
If ever I come back to Scotland I will definitely be using Lindsay’s Highland Tours….
I even took a photo of George enjoying the scenery as well.

Lindsays Highland Tours was so wonderful I was left singing in happiness from the whole experience!
My tour was personalized to my requests and my tour guide George had wonderful ideas added in! He studied and knew details of the locations and sights, and then also had great stories for when he didn’t know the specifics, Lol! It was entertaining and the entire experience very fun! George took the time and extra effort to be with me on each location and not just point and say, “Go here.”
We went to my favorite places, and he took silly pictures of me having fun, fun that he helped make happen because so many were his ideas. He made me laugh and truly was adventurous. George helped bring my previous lonely solo holiday to an adventure with a dear friend!
I didnt want the tour to end and I want to tour all over Scotland with him. He was genuine, thoughtful, made me tea in the morning, and always asked if I was comfortable- he gave the greatest hospitality.
After the tour I found myself being more like George- singing and humming as I walked the streets. My tour with George and Lindsays Highland Tours helped me to tap back into the adventure, humor and joy that I needed.
I will be back to do another Lindsays Highland Tour next spring and potentially again in the summer! George and I have plans of more places and adventures to go on!
